Farm work day !

This week, instead of giving you news from the farm, we are sending out and invitation to VISIT the farm for a group work day!

When: July 19th, 2013

Time: 9:30am to 4:30pm

Where: Our farm, of course!  398 route du Canton, Brownsburg-Chatham

Why: To work with us for the day and see where your veggies come from!

What to bring: boots (rubber boots or other closed-toe shoes), work gloves (if you don’t have any, don’t worry, we have extras and not all jobs require them), a lunch to share potluck style, and a swimsuit if you want to brave our pond!

How to get to the farm: By car!  If you don’t have access to a car, please let us know and we will arrange for you to carpool with someone else!

We decided to hold group work days this year because we feel it is  important for our basket partners to have the opportunity to see how their food is produced.  A large part of our mission as a farm is to reconnect consumers with farmers… in other words, for us to connect to you!  We want to show you our fields and the work we do every day and that we love so muIMG_5365ch.  It is also a great opportunity to meet other partners and talk with folks who love veggies as much as you!

A lot of our work can often feel repetitive (also meditative!) and this lends itself well to working with a teammate or a group of people.  We are hoping the weather will let us harvest garlic on the 19th of July, but we will surely have other tasks on the agenda for that day (some weeding perhaps, or maybe a little de-rocking of paths, or picking peas… who knows!?!)  We invite you to come with an open heart, ready for a variety of jobs, and we will do our best to make it a rewarding day!

We will begin the day with a brief orientation session, so we ask that you be on time at 9h30.  If you are only able to join us for the afternoon, we ask that you arrive at the latest by 1pm in order to be present for the afternoon orientation session.

Come and see us on the 19th of July!  We look forward to working with you for the day! Please RSVP so we can plan the days’ work accordingly.
