This is our last basket of the winter season!  Does that mean that spring must be on its way?  Well, sure, soon enough.  We’ve planned out next year’s basket, ordered all our seeds and will be starting our seedlings inside in just over a month.  Registration for summer baskets has even already begun! Until then, though, we’ll try to savour these sunny, snowy days and the more relaxed pace it means for us farmers.

This past weekend, Heather was down in Guelph for the 33rd annual Guelph Organic Conference.  It is the largest organic conference in the country, and is a place of exchange with farmers from across the continent.  It is great to be able to hear about what other folk are up to, and think of how we could apply some of their ideas to our own farm.  We look forward to sharing some of our ideas with you at our First Annual Partners’ Meeting, Saturday April 12th!

Another fun gardening event happening soon is the Seedy Saturday and Sunday hosted by Seeds of Diversity and Action CommuniTerre at the Montreal Botanical Gardens each year.  It’s a day no home gardener will want to miss, with local seed companies offering a huge diversity of seeds for sale, as well as seed exchanges for free between gardeners and free workshops offered all day.  This year’s event takes place Feb 8-9, from 10h to 16h30.  Heather will be there, selling seeds with la Ferme Coop Tourne-sol, so stop by and say hi if you’re there!

Well, that’s it for this season!  We hope to see you all back when our summer baskets resume in June!
